Christians are under pressure (if not under attack) for their views on same-sex marriage, gender identity and other related topics. Those who stand up for Biblical values on sexuality and marriage are accused of being divisive or worse!
This is a very good blog from Stand to Reason that we recommend reading – The Pragmatic Benefits of God-Given Sexual Boundaries.
It is ‘reason’ that many people struggle with as Christianity is usually singled out as the problem in our ‘modern’ culture. It is welcoming to read some rational thoughts on this subject that has become over-complicated and driven by ’emotion’ more than reason.
As sexual scandals now dominate our… Continue reading
Jesus’ death and resurrection was the greatest demonstration of love the world has ever seen. We have a Father in heaven who wants a restored relationship with each of us and His Son was willing to make this possible by bridging the gap between us and our Creator – this gap exists because of sin.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1:6-7)
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
If Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead then the Christain faith is void and worthless. It’s this fact of the gospel message that a Christian’s belief should be rooted in. The belief here is more than simply accepting that something is true – Christians have to give themselves to the fact that Jesus rose from the dead, they have to surrender to that truth!… Continue reading
The gospel accounts of Jesus’ death and resurrection are dismissed by many as fiction, but some details don’t make sense if this was the case. One such detail is when blood AND water came out of Jesus’ side after His side was pierced:
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. (John 19:33-34)
If someone was making this up why would they add water to the description? It’s only with our deeper medical understanding do we know that this is feasible,… Continue reading
The beliefs of Christianity are exclusive and narrow, but this is no surprise as the truth is narrow and exclusive for everybody! Christians are often labeled intolerant for saying Jesus is the ONLY way and increasingly Christianity is called oppressive simply because their views are different to secular society. The ironic reality is that you only find out about truth by learning about it, usually from someone else who you may currently disagree with!
Real tolerance means you can disagree with someone but still give them the right to be wrong – this view is unfortunately quite rare in our current society. Social media can at times feel oppressive with… Continue reading
Living Waters have released their latest film The Atheist Delusion. The synopsis of the film says, “Having to prove the existence of God to an atheist is like having to prove the existence of the sun, at noon on a clear day. Yet millions are embracing the foolishness of atheism.” Ray Comfort asks various atheists questions to show how they are denying the obvious!
This is a powerful and challenging film for any atheist, but also a great resource for Christains, as it provides a framework for those times we are defending our faith. The full film is below, we highly recommend watching it and sharing it with your friends:
