It’s been a while since we made a comment on topical end-time prophetic events – one of the reasons for this is that events are now so fast-moving, it’s almost impossible to keep up!
One area of Bible prophecy that continues to shape up directly in line with many end-time scenarios is the Middle East. Many prophetic passages (such as Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 12-14 and Psalm 83) indicate Israel will one day be left abandoned and exposed by the world whilst fiercely hostile surrounding nations will seize the opportunity for an all out frenzied attack with the intention of completely wiping them off the face of the earth. These… Continue reading
We have regularly stressed the fundamental truth that Christianity without the resurrection is not Christianity – our faith hinges on the historicity of Christ been raised from the dead, never to die and this makes Him utterly unique among anyone in history. This fundamental truth is under constant attack.
In the week leading up to Easter, the BBC displayed the headline news that according to a quarter of Christians, the ‘resurrection did not happen’.
What was not clear was that this survey distinguished between ‘active’ and ‘non-active’ Christians and the 25% figure comes from combining the groups – ie. it included ‘non-active’ Christians. We are also not told how an… Continue reading
We blog on the abortion issue fairly frequently as we believe this is a key barometer of how much society values the life of the weakest individuals and by implication how close a nation is aligned to God’s moral values. In our most recent blog we made the grim prediction that there would be increasing calls to end the lives of infants soon after birth. One of the reasons for this is that we cannot see what basis there is for denying the right of parents to kills their babies just after birth if it’s OK before birth – after all, the status of the baby as a living being… Continue reading
The aftermath of last week’s US election has been chaotic. A surprise win propelling Donald Trump into the position of US President caused predictable outrage and hysteria among those who voted for Hilary Clinton (including most media outlets who were hugely biased against Trump). We live in bizarre times where the results of democratic elections are being aggressively contested by those who don’t like the outcome and want the decision reversed – the same was/is true of Brexit.
Let us state up-front that we do not endorse either Trump or Clinton – both candidates are hopelessly flawed and using Biblical values as a barometer it’s impossible to whole-heartedly align with… Continue reading
Two years ago we blogged on the case of scientist Mark Armitage being fired for discovering amazing dinosaur evidence that supports Biblical creation. This lead to a lawsuit where Mr Armitage alleged he was fired based on religion. We are pleased to report that the University have agreed to settle which can be seen as an admission that they expected to lose the case and that his inconvenient discovery was the main motivation for his dismissal. Not only did he discover soft, brown tissue in the horn of a Triceratops, he also discovered actual bone cells – evidence like this shatters the myth that dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years… Continue reading
At the start of this year, we blogged about some ‘prophetic’ words by David Noakes ahead of the EU referendum. As we said then, we are cautiously attentive to any ‘prophecy’ received by Godly believers concerning God’s plan for this country, particularly when a high view of Scripture is a priority for the ‘messenger’.
In a Christian landscape flooded with various forms of theology and Bible interpretation we commend the Prophecy Today UK ministry as appearing to have a sincere and Biblical heart for the Lord in the these last days. We wholeheartedly agree with Clifford Hill in his recent update where he says, ‘My frustration is due to the… Continue reading
Last week, the BBC aired a documentary ‘A World Without Downs’ in which Sally Phillips explores the issues surrounding a new prenatal test for Downs Syndrome. This new test provides 99% accuracy in determining the likelihood of a Downs baby and she expresses concern that this will cause a dramatic increase in the number of babies who are aborted – there are even fears that we could soon be in the same position as countries like Iceland where virtually every single baby identified as having Downs Syndrome is aborted – a Downs-free country. This is a shameful indictment on a society that increasingly places much less value on the disabled… Continue reading
