It’s been a while since we made a comment on topical end-time prophetic events – one of the reasons for this is that events are now so fast-moving, it’s almost impossible to keep up!
One area of Bible prophecy that continues to shape up directly in line with many end-time scenarios is the Middle East. Many prophetic passages (such as Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 12-14 and Psalm 83) indicate Israel will one day be left abandoned and exposed by the world whilst fiercely hostile surrounding nations will seize the opportunity for an all out frenzied attack with the intention of completely wiping them off the face of the earth. These… Continue reading
Very few Western church leaders understand the Middle East as well as Canon Andrew White. Also known as the ‘vicar of Baghdad’, Andrew White has intimate knowledge of the difficulties of living for Jesus Christ in a majority Muslim region. Not only this, he has a unique understanding of the complexities of the Middle East peace process and the animosity towards the Jews from surrounding nations and the world at large.
We have blogged before on the flagrant bias against Israel demonstrated by many international ‘peacekeeping’ bodies such as the UN which do little to conceal their obsession against the only democracy in the Middle East – they appear to… Continue reading
Whilst many view 2016 as a year to forget, there are signs that 2017 could be a year to remember! With Brexit and the US election results, 2016 was a year of significant change and 2017 has continued along this turbulent path since Trump’s inauguration and many unpredictable elections across the EU. Could there be more in store that has prophetic significance?!
When we look back at major historical events relating to Israel there appear to be some patterns in the dates…
- 1517 – Ottoman Empire invaded Israel
- 1917 – collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the Balfour Declaration
- 1947 – UN approval of resolution 181 calling for the rebirth… Continue reading
The aftermath of last week’s US election has been chaotic. A surprise win propelling Donald Trump into the position of US President caused predictable outrage and hysteria among those who voted for Hilary Clinton (including most media outlets who were hugely biased against Trump). We live in bizarre times where the results of democratic elections are being aggressively contested by those who don’t like the outcome and want the decision reversed – the same was/is true of Brexit.
Let us state up-front that we do not endorse either Trump or Clinton – both candidates are hopelessly flawed and using Biblical values as a barometer it’s impossible to whole-heartedly align with… Continue reading
In our scientific age, many demand evidence to distinguish fact from fiction! As the evolution brainwashed generation grows, many believe science has answered the big questions…and why wouldn’t they? Our media portrays evolution as a proven fact and this subtly tells us we have no need for God and that we are not accountable to any greater power. Maybe this is where you stand, but is there any proof that God doesn’t exist?
It’s right that we should explore the evidence to explain our existence, but we need to be objective in our search. If you believe that God doesn’t exist are you being honest with the many different claims… Continue reading
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4)
“The oldest hand-written passages from the Hebrew Bible identical to versions in use today have been identified by researchers using digital technology to read an ancient scroll.”
Many will find the above statement hard to believe, but archeology is constantly making discoveries that support the Bible instead of falsifying it. In this particular case, it is advancements in technology that have allowed us to verify a scroll found in Israel in 1970. As the BBC article… Continue reading
There have been some notable examples in recent weeks of anti-Israel behaviour and double standards in the sporting arena. These are worth a mention because no other nationality in the world has to endure prejudice in the ways Israelis do and we can only put this down to underlying anti-Semitism.
During the Olympic games, there were reports of the Lebanese team refusing to allow members of the Israeli team share a bus to the opening ceremony. There were athletes pulling out of the competition to avoid having to compete against Israeli opponents. Following that, an Egyptian judo fighter refused to shake the hand of the Israeli who had just beaten… Continue reading
