When asked about the signs of the end-times in the Olivet Discourse, Jesus drew a parallel between the ‘days of Noah’ and the days prior to His return – effectively Jesus was saying that there would be a repeat of the situation that led to the flood:
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the… Continue reading
It’s been a while since we made a comment on topical end-time prophetic events – one of the reasons for this is that events are now so fast-moving, it’s almost impossible to keep up!
One area of Bible prophecy that continues to shape up directly in line with many end-time scenarios is the Middle East. Many prophetic passages (such as Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 12-14 and Psalm 83) indicate Israel will one day be left abandoned and exposed by the world whilst fiercely hostile surrounding nations will seize the opportunity for an all out frenzied attack with the intention of completely wiping them off the face of the earth. These… Continue reading
Whilst many view 2016 as a year to forget, there are signs that 2017 could be a year to remember! With Brexit and the US election results, 2016 was a year of significant change and 2017 has continued along this turbulent path since Trump’s inauguration and many unpredictable elections across the EU. Could there be more in store that has prophetic significance?!
When we look back at major historical events relating to Israel there appear to be some patterns in the dates…
- 1517 – Ottoman Empire invaded Israel
- 1917 – collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the Balfour Declaration
- 1947 – UN approval of resolution 181 calling for the rebirth… Continue reading
Last Sunday (New Years Day), Danny was asked to preach at St Andrew’s Baptist Church and he gave a sermon entitled ‘Prepared as a Bride’ where he looked into the need for being prepared, watchful and alert in these uncertain times.
2 Corinthians 4:16-5:10 was used as a base text and there were three themes that were expounded that are particularly relevant at the start of a New Year:
- The need for Perspective
- The need for Purity
- The need for Passion
Although this message was given specifically with St Andrew’s Baptist Church in mind, there will no doubt be an application for any church or individual.
Feel free to listen… Continue reading
Those who have an interest in prophecy will be very familiar with 2 Timothy 3:1-7 – it is a passage that is regularly the subject of church sermons and is one of the key passages concerning end-time indicators. It clearly provides an accurate description of the world around us and it is patently obvious that this prophecy is being uniquely fulfilled in this generation. In fact, it’s quite frightening to consider how accurately this describes society today which alone should be a urgent wake-up call to stay alert and not be distracted or seduced by matters of this world.
However, there are some details in this passage that are often… Continue reading
In our scientific age, many demand evidence to distinguish fact from fiction! As the evolution brainwashed generation grows, many believe science has answered the big questions…and why wouldn’t they? Our media portrays evolution as a proven fact and this subtly tells us we have no need for God and that we are not accountable to any greater power. Maybe this is where you stand, but is there any proof that God doesn’t exist?
It’s right that we should explore the evidence to explain our existence, but we need to be objective in our search. If you believe that God doesn’t exist are you being honest with the many different claims… Continue reading
At the start of this year, we blogged about some ‘prophetic’ words by David Noakes ahead of the EU referendum. As we said then, we are cautiously attentive to any ‘prophecy’ received by Godly believers concerning God’s plan for this country, particularly when a high view of Scripture is a priority for the ‘messenger’.
In a Christian landscape flooded with various forms of theology and Bible interpretation we commend the Prophecy Today UK ministry as appearing to have a sincere and Biblical heart for the Lord in the these last days. We wholeheartedly agree with Clifford Hill in his recent update where he says, ‘My frustration is due to the… Continue reading
